Really fun night! Jake you are gonna have a blast when you play with us!
Ana you sounded awesome thanks for coming out! The recording picked up the vocals pretty well,
but the audience was saying they couldn't hear them.
So we still probably needed to go up on the vocals, we definitely
should have moved both PAs in front of the Mics so we could turn up more
w/o feedback! That was my bad, sorry about it! I messed up on my drum part, but you still sounded great! Great job!
Also on the mic amp - I had an idea - we should turn it on its side and use channels
1 and 8 so that the left input goes to left mic and right to right. I think
that will help when we need to make mid-show-adjustments so we can
easily know which one to adjust. And there will be seperation between the
knobs so they don't get accidently bumped when making adjustments to the other
one. I don't know if either of those things happened, but I'm just wondering what
might have happened to my mic level for Fishin in the Dark.
Other than that, I think this is the tightest we have sounded so far! I
messed up a couple chords in several songs and my voice was having trouble, but overall it sounded great!
Some thoughts for Next Time:
My mind was just racing last night thinking about all the things we could do with 4 of us. I couldn't fall asleep for like 2 hours, because I am really excited about all the potential we have together.
I think, Ana and Jake, you guys should just jump in and sing the songs in the Loud Son set list
- I have seen plenty of cover bands where the female singer sings the male
vocal parts. That would free me up to focus more on being able to nail the looper pedal
and worry about the guitar parts. I can still jump in and sing some parts when needed,
and we can still jump around and play our other instruments on our other projects, but I think we would sound awesome as a four piece with Me - Guitar/Backup Vocals, Sonny - Drums, Jake - Bass(when ready)/Lead Vocals, and Ana - Lead Vocals. We could
just have Ana and Jake (with or without Bass) sing together and have 2 lead
singers! We could look at
the Song List> and come up with a list of songs that either already have the right vocal parts or we could
just add a parts to songs we want to do. Songs like Broken I think could sound
pretty awesome! Or other songs with heavy low male vocals and the
clean or thrashy female vocals. I think it sounds really cool with bands like
Evenecense - or even heavier like
Battlelore or
Nightwish.
Even something unconventional like blink 182 and have Jake sing Marks parts and Ana sing Toms parts! Or like add heavy low vocals to No-Doubt songs. Just things like that, we could literally do whatever we want and I think it would be fun as hell and sound awesome.
We should do
something similar to what Tj, Shawn, and I did when we were first starting- come up with
a small set of our 4-piece and do it next time at Bunny's or Sonny's. I was thinking
we do like - Broken, Here without you, Bring Me to Life, Can't Help Fallin in Love, Drift Away,
Slither, Kryptonite. We can just add the vocal parts wherever we want. Right there is a 20 minute set and I think we could get it together in time for Sonny's Bday Show.
But, really I just think we should try to figure out how to combine forces, because
you guys all have a lot of talent and I think we could sound huge as 4. But if we aren't
feeling it as a 4 piece, we could do our separate 3 pieces. Now that we don't have any
shows for a month we can take some time and try some things out. Anyway, text me and let me know what everybody thinks, Ana you can get my number from Sonny, I don't wanna put it here. Sorry for rambling I didn't get a lot of sleep last night!
TL:DR
Great Job Ana and Sonny! You guys sounded fantastic! I am looking forward to hearing Jake
when you play with us next!
We should try some songs as a 4-piece next practice!
